Industrial Designer Renders BMW 8 Series

December 20, 2011 Leave a comment

Having just launched the 6-Series Gran Coupe, maybe BMW will complete all possible niches with a new 8-Series?
BMW’s 6-Series Coupe is the Bavarian’s latest flagship, but having seen it, how many of you thought that the 8-Series, their true flagship two-door, should be resurrected? Well it seems at least one, and it just so happens to be an industrial designer.Ismet Cevik has come up with some great renderings of his vision of what a new 8-Series Coupe should look like. Explaining his ideas behind the design he said: “It’s actually a real rival to the Mercedes CL.

“Because I think the 6-Series is not a full comparison to the CL-Class. I went a bit further from a CL, and also included Rolls-Royce and Bentley influences. It is definitely a 90’s legend 8-Series. High class, business, luxury and supersport. Created to be new legend for BMW.”From your mouth, Ismet, to BMW’s ears.

A BRZ convertible is reportedly on the way, and we have a rendering showing what the open-top variant could look like.

According to recent reports, Subaru is planning on building a cabriolet variant of their new BRZ sports car.The Subaru-Toyota project on the BRZ has created quite a bit of buzz, as it draws a very similar look to the new Toyota GT-86 and Scion FR-S.The rendering of the Subaru BRZ convertible by Theophiluschin draws its inspiration from the new BRZ coupe, however it doesn’t appear to be quite as aggressive as its stock-counterpart.
Check it out for yourself and let us know what you think about an open-top version of the new, highly-acclaimed sports car.And if you didn’t already know, Subaru engineers have confirmed they developed the car from the get-go so that it can lose its top without having to do significant structural alterations. So it seems to us this is a no-brainer.Rendering courtesy of Theophiluschin.

A Veyron-inspired Super-Sedan concept rendering by designer Dejan Hristov.

Whether or not the Bugatti Galibier will ever make it to production is a mystery within itself, as the super-sedan we all thought was coming as the mighty Veyron’s successor never came to fruition. As the French company goes over their plans and designs the supercar anew, Macedonian designer Dejan Hristov has taken it upon himself to create his own version of a Bugatti high-performance sedan, clearly basing it on the now extinct Veyron.
Hristov’s Bugatti Super-Sedan features some new and innovative ideas for the supercar, such as the headlights which are hidden behind a panel when not in use. Gullwing doors and a four-wheel-drive configuration also make their way onto the sedan concept.Check out Dejan Hristov’s Bugatti Super-Sedan and let us know what you think about this possible Veyron successor.

Rendered: Bentley Luxury Concept

November 30, 2011 Leave a comment
Now this is what a proper 21st century Bentley should look like.

One of the great things about graphic design software is the amount one can do from their own studio. This also allows for a wonderful amount of creativity for those who love cars. And while not every result looks good, there are still plenty of talented individuals out there who have the right stuff for automotive design. And one of those talents has just released his latest work. Called the Bentley Luxury Concept, the designer claims his 3D inspiration came from wooden boats, old classic cars with wood panels, and the designs of older Bentley’s.
Hailing from Stockholm, Sweden, the designer also wanted to express his roots by choosing a common type of wood that’s used in Swedish furniture design. And as you can tell from the images, the car is massive in size. Coming in at more than six meters long (nearly 20 feet), it would look absolutely breathtaking if it were built as a full-size car. Overall, it’s an impressive concept that really shows what a modern Bentley could look like. Great job Andreas on your creation.

2013 BMW M6 Renderings Released

November 29, 2011 Leave a comment

The auto world is eagerly awaiting for the new generation of the BMW M6, so when we came across this 2013 M6 renderings (we must thank BMWBlog and BimmerPost for the scoop) we wanted to share them with you.
The images belong to Onur Durson from Duron Automotive Art, a German designer who managed to create a virtual representation that is very close to our expectations for the new M6. The M details have been borrowed from the F10 M5, so you will recognize elements such as the front fascia and the quadruple exhaust.
Certain sources indicate that BMW could up the M5’s 560 hp ante for the M6, but it still too early to tell if we’ll get more muscle or not.

The next form expected off the line from the German automaker is the Porsche 911 Turbo and then the Turbo convertible.TopSpeed has created their rendering by incorporating sportiness to the base 911 and some styling cues lifted from spy shots. The Turbo variant has wider rear fenders, rear spoiler and cooling vents. It is speculated to run on a turbocharged 3.8-liter flat-six with an output of 530hp. Improved fuel economy is also expected for the 911 Turbo convertible. It is expected to arrive shortly after the 911 Turbo coupe, meaning sometime late next summer.Rendering courtesy of Topspeed.

‘Rambo Lambo’ Successor Rendered: The New Lamborghini Crossover

November 26, 2011 Leave a comment
The possible successor to the LM002 has been rendered by Digitec-Ve.

Time Magazine has called Lamborghini’s previous foray into the crossover/SUV market a failure. The 1986 Lamborghini LM002 was ranked 40th in their “Top 50 Worst Cars of All Time” list mainly for what the magazine called the Rambo Lambo’s “appalling clientele.”Well, Saudi Sheiks, Libyan government officials and Uday Hussein aside, automotive enthusiasts haven’t held a grudge against the Italian automaker’s previous SUV offering.

It’s safe to say the majority of fans are excited for Lambo’s next excursion into the crossover market.Stephan Winkelmann, CEO of the Italian automaker, recently confirmed the production of a new model and it might end up being a production/crossover version of the Estoque Concept from the 2008 Paris Motor Show, though we fully expect a LM002 successor. And now the guys over at Digitec-VE have taken their best shot at predicting the possible styling of the next Lamborghini crossover. They didn’t mention powertrain, however you may recall that the LM002 ran a 7.2-liter V12.

The renderings show a model with a more mainstream look, which deviates from the LM002 greatly as the former was based on the “Cheetah” military vehicle (after, of course, moving the engine from the rear to the front). The rendered crossover seen here has a pretty steep windshield with a rear fascia reminiscent of the Gallardo and a dual-exhaust setup.

Teamspeed has rendered the 2013 Alfa Romeo 4C Spyder.

Alfa Romeo is creating a Spyder variant of their 4C sports car for 2013, and the guys at Teamspeed are already at work guessing as to what it could look like. The 2013 4C Spyder should be powered by the stock’s turbocharged 1.75-liter 4-cylinder engine with an output of 215hp. A 5-second 0-60mph time is expected on the open-top Italian car along with a top speed of 155mph.The two-seater could measure only 4m long and should remain an automatic.
Using an efficient dual-clutch setup, fuel economy should be pretty good. They also comment that with its carbon fiber build, the light Spyder could weigh in at less than 2,200lbs.In any case, we are looking forward to the 2013 Alfa Romeo 4C Spyder when it makes its debut sometime next year.

Rendered: A Closed Cockpit Ferrari F1 for the Future?

November 25, 2011 Leave a comment

A Polish artist’s rendering offers an interesting angle on F1 future cars. Open-wheel racing has always been the most exhilarating as well as the most dangerous category of motor racing. In 2009 Henry Surtees, son of former F1 champion John Surtees, was killed when a wheel from another car hit his helmet during an F2 race at Brand Hatch, UK.A few weeks ago, another Briton, Dan Wheldon, lost his life when his Indy car flew into the catch fence at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
In another incident, Ferrari driver Felipe Massa was badly injured after a loose coil spring from Rubens Barrichello’s Brawn GP car pierced his helmet during the 2009 Hungarian GP. Those incidents increased the awareness of the dangers in open-wheeled racing, particularly in the advanced categories where top speeds are above 200mph. So closing the cockpit for safety reasons seems to be a logical solution.Jacek Kolodziejczyk, a polish graphic artist, decided to promote this idea by sketching a closed cockpit Ferrari. The result is a stunning car, named FX1-i1, with a shape that doesn’t break the idea of F1 racing but improves safety.

“I started this project in 2009 right after Massa’s accident at the horrible Hungaroring,” he wrote on his website. “I was fully aware that it won’t be easy and all open-wheeler traditionalists and fans might kill me just for thinking about closing F1 cockpits for good.Anyway, I’ve decided to play with the traditional look of the modern F1 car and try to convince all (sic) that closed cockpits could still look good. “I’ve chosen Ferrari for my concept basically because I’m a huge Ferrari fan and a huge fan of Robert Kubica and I just would like to see him alongside Alonso driving for my favorite team – that’s why you can see his name on the car.
I hope someday it becomes reality. Get well soon Robert. “Regarding aerodynamic properties and the way how the driver could escape from the car within 5 seconds, please do not ask me, let’s leave this for those magicians like Adrian Newey. I just wanted to make it looks good.”
